About the Job
SCORE, LLC in Middlebury, CT,  is currently hiring a full-time front desk receptionist.  The candidate will handle front desk duties Monday through Friday. This includes scheduling appointments, contacting new patients, collecting copays, setting up new patient accounts in the system, setting up gym memberships, scanning, faxing, answering phones, helping patients complete intake paperwork, assisting with insurance authorizations, and performing other office duties as needed. Prior medical office experience is helpful.  Must be able to multitask and work independently. Able to work under pressure.   Detail-oriented is a must.

HOURS ARE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 9:30 AM TO 6:00 PM. MUST BE RELIABLE TO WORK THESE HOURS AS YOU WILL BE HERE INDEPENDENTLY IN THE LATER AFTERNOONS.

  • Book patient appointments and record and scan information in the proper location.
  • Contacting outside facilities and processing related paperwork, such as other physician offices, hospitals, and surgical centers, and providing them with the necessary information.
  • Following up with patients to ensure necessary appointments are completed.
  • Contacting patients with pertinent information regarding their scheduled appointments.
  • Preparing paperwork and other documents as needed for the therapist.
  • Addressing patient concerns and questions as needed.
  • Additional hours may be available at our other locations to cover for other employees who have time off.

Skills/ Abilities:
  • Ability to multitask between scheduling appointments in person and over the phone.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working with an EMR (electronic medical record) is helpful.  PromptEMR is our current software.
  • Must possess proficient computer skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with therapists and other staff.
  • Must have excellent time-management skills.
  • Must have outstanding professional medical phone communication skills and be able to coordinate with outside facilities to obtain patient medical information, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ability to relay information positively and calm patients, presenting solutions to their problems.

Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday (subject to change based on practice needs).

Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred).

Experience:
  • Medical receptionist: 1 year (Preferred).


Work Location: In person.
